optical dissolved oxygen measurement

The IQ Sensor Net system is a digital controller allowing multiple sensor connections including the FDO 700 DO sensor, providing in-situ determination of dissolved oxygen. The submersible probe technology is ideally suited to controlling activated sludge processes and for river monitoring applications, to provide continuous water quality measurement.

  • Latest florescence technology
  • No user calibration required
  • 2-year guarantee for chipped membrane
  • Low maintenance
  • Robust stainless steel construction
  • Digital interfacing over long distances
  • Low purchase price
  • Multiple sensors connections

The FDO sensor uses the very latest optical measurement technology to reliably report the DO concentrations without the need for user calibrations. Each individual membrane is factory calibrated under specific conditions. The calibration constant is stored in a micro-chip which is integral to the pre-formed membrane cap. An equal path measurement and reference determination subsequently maintains optimum calibration removing the need for site operators to regularly intervene. The membrane module is guaranteed for a two year operational period and can be simply replaced in the field. When replaced, the calibration file is automatically transferred eliminating any possible operator error.

The membrane has special non-fouling characteristics and is therefore extremely low maintenance. Although not typically required, compressed air cleaning of the FDO sensor may also be simply incorporated to overcome the most challenging of applications.

Various controller configurations are available for allowing up to twenty sensor connections and a variety of interfaces including PROFIBUS communications. The controllers are rated to IP66 and can be mounted directly in the field or within small secondary enclosures to allow a standard installation. The technology has been widely installed and is complimented by an extensive range of digital sensors for many other key waste water determinants such as ammonium, nitrate, MLSS, pH and turbidity allowing a unified approach across the site.
