Bespoke Water Measurement Systems

Turnkey Bespoke Measurement Systems
Sometimes it is not possible to simply use an instrument “out of the box”. Some of the more complex monitoring applications, may require a bespoke system to address specific issues and provide a reliable, water quality measurement system.
The final configuration must consider all aspects of the intended measurement application. These considerations may include (but are not limited too) instrument suitability, weather protection, security, ease of maintenance, frequency of site attendance, sample availability, power supply, signal communications, control functionality, system diagnostics, space and access restrictions. In addition, the measurement parameter(s) and typical/maximum concentrations, may also dictate the most suitable methodology and the type of instrumentation.
Probe & Analyser System Integration
Electro-chemical or optical sensors, immersed directly in the sample stream, can provide for continuous inline sample analysis. The same sensors may often also be integrated into a flow cell or sample tank receiving a pumped or pressured sample feed. Off-line analytical measurement may be required for some parameters where direct probe measurement is not considered suitable. Sample acquisition and sample preparation systems would then need to be carefully selected, to support the required wet chemistry analyser system.
Simple & more complex Measurement Systems can be Fabricated
The simplest turnkey measurement solution may comprise mounting the transmitter / controller with local display, into a small secondary GRP enclosure to provide weather protection and added security. Provision of local power isolation and individual fused spur isolation may complete the installation.
Slightly more complex builds, may include the integration of compressed air cleaning to automatically maintain the condition of the submerged sensor. This may be especially important for final effluent and river monitoring applications, where bio-fouling can affect measurement reliability.
More complex bespoke installations may include walk-in GRP enclosures with all the instrumentation pre-mounted, pre-formed rigid pipework with sample isolation, wiring of signals to a common junction box and electrical distribution from a consumer unit with fused spurs to each appliance. Internal lighting and frost protection is also typical. Sample preparation and sample delivery systems with the possibility of compressed air cleaning, can also be accommodated.
Solar & Battery Powered Systems
Where mains power supply is not available, battery and solar powered systems may provide a suitable measurement solution. Remote data access via GSM communications also supports data logging and graphical display where hard wiring to an existing telemetry system is not practical.
